Just recently, reports have started coming in where it has been revealed that AMC is involved in updating its technical infrastructure. According to the reports, the technical infrastructure for AMC is being updated to accommodate cryptocurrencies.
The reports confirm that the technical infrastructure would allow customers to pay for tickets at AMC with the help of cryptocurrencies. Initially, it was reported that the infrastructure would let the customers buy tickets with Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin (BTC).
However, the latest updates around the same matter are bringing in more interesting data surrounding the infrastructure. It is being reported that AMC is not going to limit itself just to these major cryptocurrencies. It is also going to add more cryptocurrencies to its provision of payment methods.
It was on Friday, October 29, 2021, when the CEO of AMC Entertainment, Adam Aron, posed a question through his Twitter profile. In the post, he asked all his followers and the AMC enthusiasts how interested they were to make payments for tickets through Shiba Inu.
Adam Aron had reportedly launched a poll in order to establish if the followers intended to use Shiba for ticket purchases or not. At the time of writing over 97,582 users from Twitter, platform has participated in the poll to share their opinion.
So far, the survey results have been very promising in favor of Shiba Inu (SHIB). Out of the total participants in the poll, almost 85% of users have voted “Yes” in favor of SHIB.
Right from the beginning of 2021, AMC Entertainment has taken a lot of interest in the adoption of cryptocurrencies. Similar to other major platforms such as Amazon and PayPal, AMC Entertainment has also revealed that it is aiming to accept cryptocurrencies.
The iconic theatre chain has already started working on the development of the technical infrastructure. Through the infrastructure, the platform will be able to integrate and support cryptocurrencies. There are very high chances that Shiba Inu will also earn a spot on the list of acceptable payment methods.
AMC Entertainment also wants its customers to be able to purchase other products through their platform with cryptocurrencies. It was back in September when AMC Entertainment had announced that it was going to let its customers purchase gift cards through major cryptocurrencies.
AMC Entertainment has worked with BitPay wallet in order to facilitate the users being able to avail the cryptocurrency option. In addition to cryptocurrencies, AMC Entertainment has also expressed its interest in the adoption of non-fungible tokens.
It was revealed by Adam Aron that they are currently looking into the properties of non-fungible tokens (NFT). They are going through the options of minting non-fungible tokens.
